Penny Buns

Penny Buns

Penny Bun is the common name of some species of mushrooms of the genus Boletus, often attributed, also as a product name, to four species of bolete (the Edules section of the genus Boletus) belonging to the Boletus edulis and having vaguely similar morphological and organoleptic characteristics.

It is found mainly in the oak and chestnut woods of the plains, and in the high-mountain beech and pine forests.

These are symbiotic, gregarious mushrooms, which can develop into groups of many specimens.
