Berries

The berries are a category of fruit, whose plants develop in the particular humid and acidic soil of the undergrowth, in semi-shade conditions and cold climate.

The properties of the berries are attributable both to the content of certain minerals, such as iron, zinc, copper, manganese and selenium,

and – above all – in the presence of polyphenolic molecules characteristic of these fruits: in particular anthocyanins and proanthocyanidins, but also chlorogenic acid and phenolic acids.

It is known, in fact, that the minerals mentioned are used by the physiologically antioxidant enzymes present in the body, while polyphenols would act directly on oxidative stress.
