Grapefruits

Grapefruits

Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi Macfad., 1830) is a fruit tree belonging to the Citrus genus, and to the Rutaceae family.

The common name grapefruit can refer as much to the plant as to its fruit.

It is an ancient hybrid, probably between sweet orange and pomelo, but for centuries it has been an autonomous species that propagates by cutting and by grafting.
