Lime

Lime

The file or lime, commercially known also as lime, is a citrus fruit of the Rutaceae family.

It is usually married to the sweetness of strawberries or raspberry to flavor chewing gum.

It is a tree of 4-5 meters high. The fruits are small, oval or round, with a thin skin; to reach one kilogram of weight it needs thirty. If they are left to mature on the tree, they take on a yellow to slightly orange color, but usually they are still picked green, when they offer the maximum taste and are more juicy.

The pulp is very fragrant and very sour, as it contains up to 6% citric acid. It can bear fruit three times a year.
